Accounts

We invite you to charge all restaurant, bar and spa bills to your room, whereby you can settle your account upon departure in either EC Dollars or US Dollars. Your bill will be presented to you in US Dollars – the currency conversion rate is at the rate of exchange posted at Reception.

Activities

There is a wide range of activities on the beautiful island of Bequia, as well as on our neighbouring islands. We would be delighted to assist you in planning a trip or suggest some suitable activities to make the most of your stay. 

Board Games: We have a selection of your favourite board games available in the reading room.
Gym: Located in the Spa building, it is fully air conditioned and available daily from 5:30am-7:00pm. It is equipped with a variety of machines, please take care when operating, they are to be enjoyed at your own risk.
Table Tennis: Located on the lawn opposite reception.
Water Sports: All non-motorized water sports equipment is complimentary to our hotel guest (Snorkelling gear, Kayak, Stand up paddle)
Tennis: Our tennis court is located at the adjacent Grenadine Hills and available for hotel guests wishing to enjoy some tennis. Tennis racquets are available to borrow from hotel reception. See the Google maps link for the 0.8km walking route from the Hotel to the Tennis court. After a few games in the tropical temperatures, why not wander down towards the beach and cool off with a cocktail at The Sand Bar!

Air Conditioning & Ceiling Fans

For your own comfort, all rooms have AC and fans. Please keep room doors and windows closed whilst the air conditioning is on. Most rooms are equipped with automatic A/C sensors on the terrace doors which switch off the A/C if the doors are open for more than 2 minutes. To reactivate the A/C simply shut the terrace door.

 In order to conserve energy, you are kindly asked to switch off the air-conditioning when leaving the room for a long period of time.

Airport

J.F Mitchell Airport on Bequia is open during daytime hours only. The transfer to/from the hotel is approximately 10mins by taxi. As part of the airport security check, customs will be required to manually check your bags before you board the aircraft.

Argyle International Airport is located on St. Vincent and offers direct connections to many destinations.

ATM Machines

ATM machine -There is 24hrs machine located in each bank in Port Elizabeth. A taxi can be arranged for your convenience.

Babysitters

This service can be arranged upon request.

Price is US$25.00 per hour for the first child and an additional US$5.00 for every other child per hour.

Please allow at least 6 hours’ notice. Maximum of 4 Children per sitter.

Bathrobes

Bathrobes are provided for the duration of your stay. We understand you may like our bathrobes and perhaps would like to take one home with you, however, we like them too, so we would appreciate it if you didn’t take them with you. If you would like to, you can purchase a new one in our shop. We regretfully inform you that if our bathrobes are missing from your room upon departure, you will be charged the cost of a replacement.

Beach

Sun loungers are dotted along the Friendship Bay beachfront outside of Bequia Beach Hotel for your comfort. If you would like to snorkel there are reefs along both sides of the beach offering splendid Caribbean underwater scenery. We do not have any lifeguards on the beach, so please take care when swimming, especially in the waves.

Birthdays/ Special Occasions

We would be delighted to assist you in adding some personal touches to ensure your special occasion is just that.

Board Games

We have a selection of board games available in our reading guest lounge, located adjacent to the reception.

Boat Excursions

There are several private companies that provide a range of tours and private charters around Bequia and the nearby islands in the Grenadines - including Isle de Quatre, Tobago Cays and the infamous Mustique. Please consult our reception team or call on ext. 100 for assistance.

Buses and ‘Dollar Buses’

Dollar buses are easily recognisable by their colourful designs and often amusing individual names. They run to and from Port Elizabeth, passing hotel throughout the day between approximately 6am and 6pm during weekdays. You can hail these ‘dollar buses’ costing around EC$2.00 to Port Elizabeth from the road above Blue Tropic. It’s a fun way to travel and we highly recommend trying them as part of the genuine Bequia experience.

Cash Advance

                           If you require a cash advance on your room charge or credit card there will be an additional charge of US$10 (cash advance up to US$500.00).

Car Hire

This can be arranged through reception where we can arrange a rental car at the US$85 per day. You will require a local driver’s license, which can be organized through the car rental company. This will require you to personally visit the Revenue Office in Port Elizabeth in which you will pay a one-off US$40 fee to obtain your license. You will need to provide your current driver’s license from home for inspection at the Revenue Office. Please note that the Revenue Office has reduced opening hours at the weekend.

Check in/ Check out

Check in is at 4pm and check out is at 12 noon. Late checkouts are available upon request, subject to availability. Please contact reception to find out more.

Church services

There are several churches in Bequia, with regular services.

St Mary's Anglican Church in Port Elizabeth is a very popular choice - a beautiful and imposing 1829 building, just recently restored, which has been the heart of worship on the island for nearly 200 years.

St. Michael's Catholic Church is a small, traditional stone building, high on a hill above the fishing village of Hamilton, just outside Port Elizabeth.  As with St. Mary's, visitors are very welcome and there is a small but strong Catholic community here. 

Seventh Day Adventist is a very strong faith in Bequia. There is a large new church in Port Elizabeth; Sabbath is celebrated on Saturday.

Concierge Services

Our reception team is available to assist you with all manner of items – from restaurant recommendations to island activity booking and descriptions, return reservations and special occasion arrangements – we are just a phone call away on ext. 100. Reception is open daily from 7:00am – 11:00pm.

Currency Exchange

The bank located in Port Elizabeth provides currency exchange and will cash traveler’s cheques. Please take your passport/photo ID with you.

US Dollars can be exchanged at the reception as well.

Departure Tax

Please check with reception for details of departure tax if applicable.

Doctor

Should you require medical assistance, please contact reception on 600/ 609. We can arrange for a doctor to come to your room or for transfer to and from Bequia Hospital if required. Please see ‘Emergency’ for details if the matter is urgent.

Do not Disturb

Housekeeping service in your room will be provided daily. If you do not wish to be disturbed, please place the sign on the outside of your door. We also provide a turn down service in the evening from 6pm.

Dress Code

We are an informal hotel, so whilst beach attire at lunch is fine, we kindly request that swimwear and beach attire should not be worn after 7pm in the bars or restaurants.

Drinking water

A complimentary bottle of water is provided daily in your bedroom mini fridge. We do not recommend that you drink the tap water on the island, however our filtered rain water in the restaurant is perfectly safe. You can purchase bottled water from our bar and restaurants if you prefer.

Dry Cleaning

Dry cleaning is not available on the island of Bequia. Garments that require dry cleaning will be sent to St Vincent on the ferry; hence, we do require 2-3 days to process this. As this is outsourced, we are unable to assume responsibility for any items being dry-cleaned.

Electricity

Sockets in your room are UK 3-pin style and provide you with 240Volts. Adaptors are available at the reception. Before plugging in please check your devices required voltage.

Fire

Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our fire escape procedure and route located on the wall when entering your room.  There are a number of fire extinguishers located on site, please do not be afraid to use them if necessary.

Gym

Our air-conditioned gym is available from 7am -7pm for complimentary use at your leisure, and is located near the beach, adjacent to the spa. It is equipped with a variety of machines to keep you in shape during your stay, please take care when operating the facilities as they are to be enjoyed at your own risk.

Hairdryers

Hairdryers are located in every room for your convenience, in either your wardrobe, chest of drawers or on the shelf in your bathroom.

Housekeeping

Housekeeping service will be provided daily. Should you require any additional pillows, towels or amenities such as toiletries or ice please contact reception at 100/609.

Turn Down Service is also provided daily between 6pm – 9pm.

Laundry service is available at a cost, check in-room form for pricing.{????} Please call 600/609 to arrange collection.

Iron & Ironing board: if you require an iron and ironing board, please contact reception on ext. 100/609 and we can arrange for one to be delivered to your room. We also provide an ironing service if you prefer at an additional cost.

Towels that you wish to change should be placed on the floor. Bath towels left on the racks will not be replaced.

Internet (WiFi)

Complimentary wireless internet is available for our guests throughout our property.

Laundry

This service is usually fulfilled as a same day service wherever possible. Please use the laundry form in your room and leave your laundry on your bed for housekeeping to collect. Unfortunately, there are no dry-cleaning facilities available on the island. Please see ‘Dry Cleaning’ for more information.

Mail and postage

Mail is posted and received via reception. You can purchase stamps from Port Elizabeth at the post office. Our mailing address is Bequia Beach Hotel, Friendship Bay, P.O Box 225, VC 200, Bequia St Vincent and The Grenadines. Kindly be aware expecting mail may be delivered after departure.

Medical

Should you require medical assistance, please contact reception on 600/ 609. We can arrange for a doctor to visit you in the comfort of your room or for transfer to and from Bequia Hospital if required.

Pharmacy

There is a pharmacy located in Port Elizabeth which opens Sunday 8:30am-11:00am and Monday – Friday 8:00am-7:00pm Saturday Closed.

If you are feeling unwell and require medical assistance/ supplies please contact reception. Additional charges will apply for supplies and delivery.

Photocopying / Printing

Please contact the front desk if you require photocopying/ printing.

Private Dining

We are able to create a lovely private setting under the swaying palms in our private dining pavilion by the beach for a special occasion if required. Please contact reception on ext.100 who will be happy to assist you with this.

Refrigerator

All rooms have a mini fridge in your wardrobe for your convenience. A complimentary bottle of water is provided daily.

During times of higher occupancy we strongly suggest reservations for dinner at your chosen restaurant. Contact reception on 100/609

Restaurant & Bar

Bagatelle: Serves a fusion of international cuisine and Caribbean touch, opens 7 days a week.

Blue Tropic: Serves a traditional and homemade Italian cuisine, opens seasonally contact reception on ext. 100/609 for more info.

Allergies: if you have any allergy or food intolerance, please ensure you notify the restaurant and reception staff.

Private dining: We are able to create a lovely private setting under the swaying palms in our private dining pavilion by the beach for a special occasion if required.

Beach Bar: Open daily from 7:30am- Until last person leaves.

Breakfast: included in your room rate. 7:30am-10:30am

Lunch: 12:00am -3:00pm at Bagatelle

Dinner: 6:30pm – 9:30pm at Bagatelle and Blue Tropic

Room Service Room is available from 8:00am until 9:00pm daily. A tray charge of US$10.00 will be applied to your bill. Please call our Bagatelle restaurant on ext. 605 to place your order.

Room Key

Please ensure that your room is locked as doors are not self-locking. Kindly ensure that your key is returned to reception upon check out. In the event a room key is lost there would be a fee of US$75.00 applied to your credit card on file.

Safe

We recommend that you place all valuables in the safe provided. Please be aware that Bequia Beach Hotel does not accept responsibility for any valuables left unattended in your room or on the property.

If you require any assistance, please call reception on ext. 100.

Should you wish to have a safe key- kindly ensure it is returned to reception at check out. In the unlikely event of a lost safe key, there will be a fee of US$150.00 which will automatically be charged to your card on file.

Security

Your safety is of utmost importance to us. Please note that we have security personnel that patrol our grounds24hrs. We do ask you to take precautions e.g., ensuring all doors are locked before you leave your accommodation or retiring for the evening.

Smoking

Our guest rooms are non-smoking.  You may smoke on your private terrace or in the open areas of Bequia Beach Hotel, we ask you to respect our other guests if you choose to smoke.

Spa

We encourage you to pamper yourself at the Spa, located in the green building in the garden. A full spa menu can be found in your room folder.

The steam sauna is available for use free of charge for hotel guests only. Please inform a member of our staff at least 45 minutes prior to use. Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult. We advise you do not spend more than 15 minutes at a time in the sauna.

Special Occasions

We would be delighted to assist you in adding some personal touches to ensure your special occasion is “just that”. Please contact our reception for assistance and suggestions.

Swimming Pool

The hotel has 3 pools, one salt water and 1 fresh water the main pain pool is located next to Bagatelle and the third pool is located above Blue Tropic restaurant. Pool service is available between 9am – 6pm.

Please note that the swimming pools are unattended and therefore swimming is at your own risk. An adult must accompany children under the age of 12. Please be mindful of other guests and ensure you shower before entering the swimming pool with the outdoor showers provided.   

Towels are provided by the pool. If you require towels for off site use such as beach trips and boat excursion etc please contact the reception to give you the blue ones. Please return “used towel” to the area located by the main pool.                                                                                             

Taxis

Taxis are available upon request by reception on ext.100/609, and will collect you from outside reception at the fountain. If you require a taxi back to the hotel, please either call the hotel, or alternatively, the unofficial taxi stand is located under the almond tree at the ferry port in Port Elizabeth.  Taxi rates are approximately $12 USD from the hotel to Port Elizabeth, and vice versa. After 10pm the fare increases. We have a pricelist for taxi fares at reception.

Television / TV

We have chosen to make Bequia Beach Hotel a little haven from the technological world by not putting televisions and music facilities in our rooms. However, we are aware that some guests like to unwind with a television, so if you would like to have a flat screen TV set up in your room, please do not hesitate to inform reception on ext.100/609 of your wishes and we will arrange this for you.

Tennis:

Our tennis court is located at the adjacent Grenadine Hills and available for hotel guests wishing to enjoy some tennis. Tennis racquets are available to borrow from hotel reception. Towels

As there is no running water on Bequia Island, we rely solely on rainwater collected in our water tanks. Therefore, in an effort to reduce water consumption, we invite guests to actively participate by simply observing the following guidelines:

Wake up calls

The reception will be pleased to give you a personal wakeup call at your specified hour. Please call reception on ext.100 to arrange this.
